I'm Back!!!!!!!

Its my offical I'm back from vacation post. Didn't stay gone as long as planned but still had alot of fun. We were gone for 5 days and it rained off and on 4 of days we were there. Most of the rain was after sunset so it didn't really matter since we were in the hotel but there was a few small rain showers during the days also, nothing major that stopped us though.

Since everyone might be wondering we went to the southern tip of IL. We even ventured to Kentucky and Missouri where the Ohio and Mississippi rivers join together. Well here are a few photos of the 1000+ that we took (My wife and I both love photography).

These 2 photos were taken from the top of the bluffs at the Garden of the Gods near Harrisburg, IL. In both photos I'm standing on rock cliffs that are about 150 feet high. It is an amazing view from the tops and very breath taking, the tall hills in the far background are more than 10 miles away.

This photo is looking into a cave on the bank of the Ohio River. There is alot of history about this cave involving river pirates back in the late 1800's and early 1900's. I have photos of the inside but because of how dark it was in it they didn't turn out very well. The cave it self was probably 60ft high from the floor to the ceiling and I couldn't even begin to guess how deep it was as we didn't go all the way through it since we had the kids with us.

These two photos of are Burden Falls which is near Dellwood, IL. In total it drops about 115 feet over a series of 3 falls, the last is about a 60 foot drop and is impressive for its location. It took about 2 hours to hike down the cliffs to the bottom of the falls where the second of the 2 photos was taken.

Wow great pictures, it looks like you had fun on the trip though!It'd be cool to go down to the place where the river pirates held there loot, never know you coulda found something!lol

With all the visitors that the cave draws I would highly doubt that anything is there to be found. Since it is now a state park it has probably been searched through over and over again. However it was still an amazing place to visit.

Yeah, i guess theres a really really small chance that there is something ther, if it is its probably hidden anyways lol.  but i'd love to visit the place just the same

it may not be graffiti, it could just be strange rock colourings, i doubt it (lol) but it could be

There is graffiti on the walls of it, although there was some on the roof of the cave also. Someone had to be very creative to get it up there though as it is around 60 feet from the floor. Most of the graffiti was in probably the first 40 feet of the cave after that it is almost too dark to see to be able to "tag" it anywhere. Especially seems how most of it was probably done at night when no one is around.

Yes, Colonal Sanders is a true person! I just thought it was amazing the he actually started the KFC franchise at the age of 65, most people are retiring at that age not starting up a business.
